JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares and maintains the master production schedule ensuring that it is aligned with firm/forecast customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.   Conducts material analysis that enable a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet daily/weekly production requirements. Initiates continual improvement within IATF 16949 and follows environmental requirements within ISO 14001 , comply with the requirements of  BASC-CTPAT. To fulfill the roles and responsibilities related to the protection of the environment.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create the Master Planning Schedules (MPS) ensuring a balance with plant and warehouse capacity while meeting customer demands.
  • Develop and maintain schedules and material planning parameters with the ERP system to assure integrity of information and consistency with customer requirements.
  • Develops short and long term production models to meet the ever changing needs of the customer.
  • Performs extensive analyses of a qualitative nature and makes operational recommendations with regard to material planning, forecasting and inventory efficiencies.
  • Develops and maintains material plans that meet market budgetary and performance goals such as inventory turns, on-hand inventory dollars, fulfillment service levels and excess/obsolete material.
  • Reports and addresses material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions that may impact production schedules or customer orders.
  • Coordinates with production and material concerns in formulating get-well-plans to overcome disruptions to the production schedules that impact customer requirements.
  • Evaluates requests from the customer through Customer Service on the feasibility of accepting increase in orders to specific delivery dates.
  • Attends the daily production meetings.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

 

EDUCATION:

BA/BS Degree in Business, Industrial/Manufacturing, Logistics, Production, or Operations Management is desired and/or equivalent years of experience in related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Requires a minimum of 3 years related work experience in Master Scheduling/materials planning.

 

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Detailed understanding of manufacturing environments and processes.
  • Strong analytical and PC skills are essential.
