About the Role
We’re looking for a Junior Shopify Developer with 1–2 years of experience to join our growing remote team. In this role, you’ll focus on theme customization, front-end improvements, and ongoing store maintenance for Shopify-based e-commerce websites. You’ll work closely with designers, marketers, and fellow developers to ensure storefronts are functional, responsive, and optimized for user experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and modify Shopify sections, templates, snippets, and blocks using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
• Develop and maintain Shopify-based e-commerce websites, ensuring functionality, performance, and user experience meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve theme errors, layout issues, and storefront bugs.
• Perform small bug fixes and continuous improvements across existing Shopify stores.
• Support ongoing store updates, content changes, and configuration tasks within Shopify Admin.
• Monitor basic site performance and user experience, identifying front-end issues and areas for improvement.
• Fix UI, layout, and front-end functionality issues across desktop and mobile devices.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-documented code following development best practices.
• Test website features across browsers and devices to ensure responsiveness and consistency.
• Collaborate with designers and colleagues to implement visual and functional features accurately.
• Assist in integrating, configuring, and maintaining Shopify apps and third-party tools.
What We’re Looking For
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience working with Shopify themes (Dawn or other themes).
• Basic knowledge of Liquid, Shopify’s templating language.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
• Ability to customize and modify existing Shopify sections, templates, and snippets.
• Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development.
• Familiarity with Shopify Admin (products, collections, navigation, pages).
• Experience using browser developer tools for debugging and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of version control (Git).
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
• Experience with Shopify app customization or theme enhancements.
• Familiarity with page builders such as PageFly, Shogun, or Gempages.
• Basic understanding of e-commerce best practices and conversion-focused design.
