About this role

The Welder Equipment Repairer role is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, layout, installation, diagnostics and repair of all welding and robotic equipment. The Welder Equipment Repairer will utilize skills and knowledge of pneumatic design, hydraulic design, electrical circuits, Controls Hardware design, electrical panel design, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller), HMIs (Human Machine Interface), robot programming, and device communication networks (DNET, ENET, and Profibus) to support the manufacturing operations.
Additional responsibilities include setting up, testing and maintaining all equipment used in production welding operations such as welding machines and equipment, jigs, fixtures, mechanical devices such as ejection and material handling devices, safety devices, electrical components and controls, hydraulic components and controls, and pneumatic components and controls. Candidate must be able to perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work any shift and work some overtime, including daily, weekend and holidays
• A U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as a Welder Equipment Repairer or a minimum of 4 years of combined experience and training similar to that required in a bona fide apprenticeship program as Welder Equipment repairer or 8 years of experience as Welder Equipment Repairer.
• Experience as Welder Equipment Repairer in a manufacturing or automation environment
• Experience with mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience working from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications
• Controls experience supporting manufacturing operations including knowledge and troubleshooting experience to locate and diagnose trouble in welding systems or equipment
• Capable of using instrumentation, both mechanical and electrical, to perform diagnostics of the systems electro-mechanical functions
• Experience in preventative maintenance including replacing broken or defective components in robotic equipment or machines, and tooling
• In order to be considered for the Electrician position, candidates must provide documentation to verify qualification(s): A DOL Certificate of Apprenticeship as an Electrician or employment letters and/or training records; and manufacturing experience as the Industrial Controls field or Electrician.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience replacing, adjusting, altering and maintaining welding guns, cylinders, cables, tips, holders, adaptors, transformers and any electrical or mechanical devices pertaining to welding operations either automatic or manual
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge and troubleshooting experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
• Experience working with AC and DC electrical
• Strong computer skills
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems

 

This position offers a competitive compensation and benefit package. Relocation and travel expenses will be the responsibility of the applicant.
