About this role

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Body Electronics Technical Expert to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced body electronic systems in modern vehicles. This role involves working on cutting-edge technologies such as lighting systems, comfort features, Access Systems, power management, and networked electronic modules, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering innovative solutions for next-generation vehicles. The ideal candidate will serve as a thought leader, mentor, and technical advisor, driving excellence in hardware design, reliability, manufacturability, and performance across multiple product lines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

System Design & Development:

  • Define architecture and specifications for body electronics systems (e.g., lighting, door modules, seat control, HVAC interfaces, Access Systems).
  • Oversee development and validation of electronic control units (ECUs) and associated software.
  • Oversee technical documentation (Tech source packages, Component specifications) and Edge Computing systems engineering way implementation.
  • Perform new supplier design assessments.
  • Champion high complex topics and bring it to resolution.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in EE HW design to all Edge Team members. Drive complex EE HW topics and provide technical solutions for them. 

Circuit Design & Analysis:

  • Deep understanding of analog, digital, and power stage circuit design for automotive ECUs.
  • Ability to design robust power supply circuits (DC/DC converters, voltage regulators) for body controllers.
  • Expertise in signal conditioning, filtering, and protection circuits for sensors and actuators.
  • Ability to perform a detailed Worst-Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) on various HW circuits for automotive ECUs.

Component Selection & Qualification:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive-grade components and their qualification processes.
  • Experience in selecting microcontrollers, transceivers (CAN, LIN), and power management ICs for BCM applications.

PCB Design & Layout:

  • Proficiency in multi-layer PCB design for high-density automotive electronics.
  • Expertise in layout techniques for EMC/EMI compliance, thermal management, and high-current traces.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Zuken, or Cadence Allegro.

Communication Interfaces:

  • In-depth knowledge of hardware implementation for automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Understanding of physical layer requirements and termination strategies for reliable network performance.

Power Management & Load Control:

  • Design experience with high-side/low-side drivers, relays, and MOSFET-based load control circuits.
  • Knowledge of current sensing techniques and protection mechanisms (short-circuit, overvoltage, thermal).

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC):

  • Expertise in designing for EMC compliance, including filtering, shielding, and grounding strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with EMC testing and troubleshooting.

Functional Safety & Reliability:

  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 requirements for hardware design.
  • Ability to perform FMEA, FMEDA, and reliability analysis for critical circuits.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in electronic hardware development.
  • Direct design experience of new ECU modules from prototype to production.
  • Experience in Electrical Electronic architecture topologies, software architecture, safety MCU/MPU, SoCs.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and signal generators.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design, layout, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering and failure analysis.
  • Familiar with Automotive industry standards for electronics, design factors of safety, and product verification is desired.
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, HFSS).
  • Strong teamwork, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related degree field.
  • 15 years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
  • Recognized expertise in one or more areas: high-speed digital design, RF systems, embedded systems, power electronics, or signal integrity.
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex product development cycles and cross-functional collaboration.
