Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for delivering production plans in accordance with quality standards, timelines, and budgetary requirements within their assigned departments. The role supports team leads, mobilizes resources to achieve operational goals, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Health and safety is the top priority. The supervisor ensures employee development and adherence to manufacturing standards and best practices.
This position is available on two shifts:
Evening shift
Night shift
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations Control
Review, update, and analyze daily production KPIs.
Conduct Gemba Walks with team leads to review results.
Analyze KPI trends to support problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Monitor production progress against weekly and monthly plans.
Take proactive action to prevent production delays and backlog.
Review and approve time sheets, absences, delays, and overtime as required.
Planning
Plan daily workforce needs (vacations, absences, overtime, interdepartmental coordination).
Ensure daily and weekly production plans are realistic and support longer-term planning.
Participate in operational meetings (H&S, production, problem-solving, Gemba, etc.).
Ensure smooth production start-up and effective handover between shifts (day, evening, night).
Optimize resource allocation and manage temporary work assignments (workers’ compensation).
Approve vacation requests in collaboration with HR and Planning.
People Management & Administration
Monitor absenteeism and punctuality.
Approve worked hours for payroll processing.
Participate in onboarding and training of new employees.
Apply disciplinary measures in accordance with the collective agreement.
Participate in workplace accident investigations with HR and the H&S Coordinator.

Qualifications
College diploma or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.
3–5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
Experience in the steel industry (strong asset).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proven leadership with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Results-oriented and able to perform under pressure.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (asset).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP and Dayforce experience (asset).
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
