Professional-level managerial role with the Vermont Department of Corrections, providing oversight and guidance for all aspects of field services operations. Responsibilities include developing policy and administrative directives, setting priorities, providing technical assistance and quality assurance, and managing complex operational needs for Probation and Parole. Work is performed under general supervision of the Director of Field Services. The role involves travel, occasional evening or weekend work, deadline-driven pressures, stakeholder coordination.

Duties are performed primarily in an office setting, but travel to Departmental and public meetings may result in a need for a private means of transportation. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Pressure of deadlines, need for program revisions, interaction with staff who may promote different concepts and objectives, and the need to address the media regarding controversial issues are often aspects of this role.
Master's Degree and three (3) years or more at or above a professional level of responsibility in human services or criminal justice, INCLUDING two (2) years or more of experience working with corrections administration and/or corrections clients AND one (1) year or more of supervisory or management duties.
OR
Bachelor's Degree AND five (5) years or more at or above a professional level of responsibility in human services or criminal justice, INCLUDING two (2) years or more of experience working with corrections administration and/or corrections clients AND two (2) years or more of supervisory or management duties.
OR
High School diploma AND seven (7) years or more at or above a professional level of responsibility in human services or criminal justice, INCLUDING two (2) years or more of experience working with corrections administration and/or corrections clients AND two (2) years or more of supervisory or management duties.
