Job Description
Location: District 4, Ottawa County Health Department
Salary: up to $15.74 an hour based on education and experience
Full Time /Part Time: Part time
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
Primary Hours: 8AM -5PM

Minimum Qualifications:
One year Experience interpreting and/or translating English to Spanish, Spanish to English, Spanish to English. Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish.
Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of interpreting and translating techniques; roles, ethics, and advocacy in health, social services, business and community settings, or other services provided by the State of Oklahoma; English, Spanish.
Ability to listen, comprehend, read, write, and speak English, Spanish; apply grammar rules in order to properly interpret and/or translate; independently follow established protocols; encourage respondents to answer questions, probe and clarify if needed; and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health, through its system of local health services delivery, is ultimately responsible for protecting and improving the public's health status through strategies that focus on preventing disease. Four major service branches, Community and Family Health Services, Wellness Programs, Disease, Prevention and Preparedness Services and Protective Health Services, provide technical support and guidance to 68 county health departments as well as guidance and consultation to the two independent city-county health departments in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
