Job Duties: This position performs a variety of tasks beyond basic facility maintenance including skilled construction, installation, altercation, fabrication, maintenance and repair work in one or more building trades and/or equipment maintenance activities. The Specialist works individually or as a member of a work crew, exercising a substantial degree of independence in planning and organizing their own work and performed related work as assigned. 

Requirements / Qualification

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade. Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis as determined appropriate by the agency

Preferred Qualifications: Certification/Completion Diploma in one or more applicable Maintenance trade(s). Licensed in one or more applicable Maintenance Fields. Special License for EPA applications or refrigerant.

Work hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm including rotating on-call work

This position requires driving. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation. Regular and Reliable attendance is required.


 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skill in: the use of hand tools, power tools and building maintenance equipment; basic office and computer skills including competency in the use of email, building system applications; the operation and preservation of maintenance tools and equipment. Use of basic grounds keeping equipment.
