Job Description:
This Technician position functions as a team member of the Contract office and interacts with staff at all levels of the department and with the public such as contractors and subcontractors.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with the managing of the Elations computer program for Certified Payrolls
Communicates with all MaineDOT Programs and offices as well as other agencies in State Government
Generating reports to provide information to the Contracts Engineer, Director of Civil Rights and Maine DOL
Provides training to MaineDOT Programs and offices.
Assists with tracking documentation for Awarding contracts and pre-qualifying contractors
Ensuring that the tasks of others meet schedules, conform to established procedures, and guidelines.
Preference will be given to those with experience in compilation and analysis of reports and statistics, contract administration, business administration and finance, or directly related area. Strong computer skills with excel and word. Project experience preferred as well as;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Proven record of working with diverse groups including state and federal partners, contractors, consultants, and entities that are recipients of MaineDOT funding;
Ability to identify and analyze problems, reach logical conclusions, and make sound recommendations; and
Strong writing skills
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
Five (5) years of experience in engineering –OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
