The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire a Painter for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired and Illinois School for the Deaf located in Jacksonville, Illinois to perform tasks of painting, decorating, and refinishing of building interiors and exteriors and other structures, equipment and furnishings. This position prepares interior or exterior walls, metal surfaces, floors, ceiling, and equipment for painting, removes fixtures/objects from walls, removes excess paint, washes walls, repairs cracks, patches and holes along with preparing and applying patching plaster and sanding surfaces. Moves heavy furniture, office equipment and other objects weighting up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 75-100 pounds with assistance. Lifts and erects ladders or scaffolding. Cleans and maintains equipment and ensures the proper use, repair and storage of materials, tools and equipment. Travels in the performance of duties.
