Position Overview:

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services is seeking a motivated candidate to join our Sangamon Region Resource Center as a Child Support Training Supervisor. This position serves as working supervisor in directing the design and development of in-house training for the Locate Module of the Statewide database Systems for the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) Resources Center.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, analytical and computer skills to be successful in evaluating the operations of the tasks of this position.

Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as a Child Support Training Supervisor in directing the design and development of in-house training for the Locate Module of the Statewide Database Systems for the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) Resource Center
  • Serves as a working supervisor
  • Plans, directs, and evaluates the Locate and Reports unit for the Statewide Database Systems Resource Center
  • Reviews, summarizes, and analyzes proposed and adopted state and federal statutes and federal regulations to determine state options in conforming with applicable statutes and/or regulations
  • Directs single purpose, special research projects required for management consideration of system enhancements and accountability
  • Manages and directs the assessment of the impact of changes and enhancements to the Statewide Database Systems
  • Directs the preparation of material translating the new Statewide Database Systems into state policy and practices
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration
  • Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of professional experience conducting training
  • Two (2) years of professional experience writing and developing training materials
  • One (1) year of professional experience working with various policy and business practices relative to complex financial aspects of the Child Support Program
  • One (1) year of professional experience interpreting child support policies and statutes
  • Two (2) years of experience utilizing child support computer systems including but not limited to a Statewide Database Systems, Statewide Disbursement Unit, Family Support Information System, Child Support Enforcement Network, IV-A Computer System, SnagIt, and Camtasia to develop and conduct training
  • Basic proficiency in web-based applications such as: GoToMeeting, Query Interstate Cases for Kids, and other Internet resources and websites
  • Two (2) years of professional experience developing and managing a supportive organizational program
  • One (1) year of experience developing and maintaining working relationships

Specialized Skills

  • Two (2) years of professional experience conducting training
  • Two (2) years of professional experience writing and developing training materials
  • One (1) year of professional experience working with various policy and business practices relative to complex financial aspects of the Child Support Program
  • One (1) year of professional experience interpreting child support policies and statutes

Conditions of Employment

  • This position requires the ability to pass a national background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential federal tax information
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
  • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
