The Illinois Department of Central Management Services is seeking to hire a Stationary Engineer at the Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Primary duties of this position include installing, maintaining, and repairing the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) operational systems, repairing and replacing pumps, defective valves, gaskets, pairings, and filters, operating hand and power tools and heavy powerhouse tools to perform routine repairs. Additional duties include making rounds of the buildings' boiler and mechanical rooms at regular intervals, testing and recording water used for consumption, and for generating steam and hydraulic hot water. The ideal candidates in addition to meeting minimum requirements, possesses strong organizational and communication skills, along with effective writing and record keeping experience.
