This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing advanced, dedicated administrative support of a confidential and complex nature to one or more executives within the Roastery & Reserve business unit. Handles confidential and non-routine information. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in making decisions and carries out activities following general guidelines. Demonstrates the ability to perform effectively with limited direction. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

As a senior administrative assistant, you will…

  • Support the executive and the department by representing the office of the executive with high customer service, interpersonal savvy and efficiency.

  • Provide leadership influence and support to leaders, partners and admin support team to continuously improve productivity, communications and morale. Works as a team member with other assistants to ensure consistency of operations and alignment with company goals and strategies.

  • Hosts and facilitate activities such as team and cross-functional meetings, conferences and department activities 



We’d love to hear from people with:

·       Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary):

o   High School diploma/GED or 4 or more years of US military service5 or more years of experience in a role performing administrative assistant or coordinator job functions

·        Skills (minimum skills required):

o   Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities

o   Demonstrates confidence, composure and professionalism

o   Advanced problem-solving skills

o   Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and reprioritize as needed; follows through on commitments

o   Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with attention to detail

o   Ability to interact and communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization

o   Ability to deliver consistently high quality and professional customer service to both internal and external customers

o   Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

o   Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

o   Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent decision making

o   Demonstrates an aptitude for understanding the business, function and company priorities

o   Knowledge of general office administration, procedures and equipment

o   Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities

o   Ability to perform successfully in a fast paced, dynamic environment

          Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills (minimum needed to be qualified):

   Progressive administrative experience 7-9 yrs

   Providing support to executive level management - or equivalent 7-9 yrs

   Project management 7-9 yrs

   Fast-paced environment 7-9 yrs

If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

 

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
