The Data Librarian is responsible for managing and organizing data assets across the organization. This role ensures data is cataloged, accessible, and governed according to metadata standards and data governance policies. The Data Librarian collaborates with data owners, stewards and analysts to enhance data discoverability, quality, and usability.

As a data librarian, you will…

·       Apply tags, classifications, physical and logical glossary terms consistently across the data intelligence platform

·       Guide and educate metadata stewardship across business domains

·       Establish and enforce metadata quality, version control, and taxonomy/ontology standards.

·       Represent data librarianship in enterprise data governance forums and initiatives.

Document and drive enterprise-wide adoption of data cataloging and literacy initiative



We’d love to hear from people with:

·       Collibra or Data Intelligence Platform experience required

·       Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, Data Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).

·       2–5 years of experience in data management, digital librarianship, or metadata management.

·       Familiarity with data cataloging tools and metadata standards (DCMI, ISO 11179, etc.).

If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
