We are looking for a driven individual to step into the exciting and challenging role of Principal Structural engineer based in either our Christchurch, Dunedin or Queenstown offices with the potential of the opportunity to expand to include Team Leader role if desired.

You will join a dynamic team working closely with clients locally and throughout New Zealand, and the wider Asia Pacific region to deliver projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional engineer with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects to work collaboratively with our clients and colleagues across Asia Pacific. You will have a chance to work on projects from the initial investigation right through to completion or construction. This opportunity is likely to involve some travel in the South Island.
About you:
You’ll be a CPEng Chartered structural engineer with at least 10 years’ professional experience in the consulting industry including multi-disciplinary design projects. You’ll have experience in water and/or transportation infrastructure projects, ideally including industrial/utility buildings or pump station buildings and water retention structures, or a good understanding of transportation infrastructure projects.
The role in a snapshot will encompass the following
- Planning, management and delivery of detailed structural designs, including senior checks and reviews, across a variety of transportation and water related infrastructure projects.
- Technical advice and leadership across the Structural Discipline
- Project leadership including design and construct project delivery methods
- Technical report writing, including ability to carry out structural assessments, inspections, risk assessment and asset management plans
- Construction supervision support as required
- Working closely with project teams and project managers to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery
- Mentoring and development of junior team members

- The Principal Structural Engineer will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering detailed structural designs for various infrastructure projects. This includes providing technical advice, project leadership, and mentoring junior team members.
