Our Sydney buildings group are seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to progress their career in Hydraulic Services consulting. We are looking for someone with Hydraulic design experience within the building services sector.
The successful candidate will be able to apply their technical skills and demonstrate commitment in a way which ensures projects are thoroughly designed, reviewed and delivered on time. You will be expected to service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients.
Stantec work across a variety of sectors including health, mission critical, defence, residential high-rise, industrial, education and community facilities. The successful candidate will be working in a strong team environment and will need to manage several projects at any one time. You will be self-motivated, resourceful and a great communicator.
Day to day tasks would involve:
• Undertaking Hydraulic engineering assessment and calculations for the detailed design of building structures
• Corresponding with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies
• Prioritise workloads whilst ensuring our clients’ needs are met whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with your colleague's both locally and across the international Stantec team
• Build and develop your professional profile both internally and externally by consistently demonstrating an ability to successfully deliver projects
To be successful for this role you'll need:
• Be degree qualified in civil, mechanical or other relevant engineering discipline or have completed a relevant diploma in hydraulic design.
• Have experience working in the consulting or engineering industry and have a good understanding of the local buildings business.
• Self-management skills will be as important as your technical design and project management abilities.
• Technically competent in terms of understanding the key elements of the design and construction associated with Hydraulic Engineering works.
• Ability to multitask and deliver high profile projects in a timely manner
• Previous Hydraulic building services experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
