Position Summary

  • Support compliance and technical activities across the site’s MRO processes, ensuring repairs are executed in accordance with OEM, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Provide process engineering subject-matter expertise across multiple MRO processes; including heat treatment, welding, chemical processing, coatings, plating, thermal spray, machining, and other aerospace processes. 
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to troubleshoot process issues, support production throughput, and continuously improve repair capability, performance, and safety.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and provide technical expertise in the use of Aerospace Manufacturing Processes for the maintenance and repair of gas turbine engines.
  • Review technical data, define process compliance requirements, and support the OEM repair approval process.
  • Provide day-to-day production support for assigned processes.
  • Write and review technical documentation including Engineering Reports, Company Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Production Engineering, Repair Development, and Quality Teams to plan and perform component repair trials.
  • Support technical equipment troubleshooting activities and define equipment operational readiness.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of process equipment including facility planning activities.
  • Review requirements, prepare technical specifications, and perform cost benefit analysis for the procurement of capital equipment. 
  • Support technician training and Operational problem resolution.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Projects and ensure critical safety and environmental requirements are upheld.

  • Understanding of basic metallurgy, aerospace materials and manufacturing techniques. 
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • University degree in mechanical, industrial, aerospace, chemical, or metallurgical engineering; or, College Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Technology; or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for registration by a professional association of engineering/applied science technologists or equivalent is expected.
  •  Relevant experience working in Aerospace or Manufacturing Industries.  

 

Preferred Characteristics

  • Understanding of MRO processes including: heat treatment, welding, chemical processes, electroplating, thermal spray, machining, and inspection techniques.
  • Basic data querying and analysis skills. 
  • Experience with fixtures, tooling, and shop floor practices.  
  • Project management skills.
