About this role

Stamford Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Instructor (Professional Development Specialist) for our Pediatrics and NICU units! This position reports to the Senior Director of Professional Development and Nursing Informatics and is responsible for the systematic process of assessment, development, and evaluation that enhances the performance or professional development of health care providers and their continuing competence. 

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts during daytime hours.

Responsibilities: 

  • Development and continued support of programs include but are not limited to: planning , managing, delivering and evaluating continuing education and training interventions for health professionals and ancillary personnel not limited to new hire Nursing Orientation, Nursing Update Day, Support Staff Update Day, Traveler Nurse Orientation, Affiliated Nursing School Instructor Orientation & Organizational/Unit specific/Service Line Educational Initiatives. Facilitation of positive professional interaction between health care groups, nursing departments, and management team. 
  • Assists the Senior Director of Professional Development and Nursing Informatics in Assessing, Planning, Implementing, and Evaluating house-wide education programs which have been identified.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; Current Registered Nurse License in Connecticut
  • BSN Required, MSN preferred.
  • Pediatrics and/OR NICU clinical experience required. 
  • 3-5 years recent clinical experience in an acute care setting and formal teaching or comparable experience required
  • Maintains appropriate job-related membership in professional organization
  • Manages time effectively by meeting deadlines for completion of work projects, being prompt to appointments and commitments, assisting others when time is available
  • National certification in appropriate related specialty could be in-progress AHA Instructor status in one discipline - ACLS, BLS or PALS
