About the role
Support the delivery of clinical and translational research focused on cardiovascular haemodynamics within the Heart Failure and Transplant Unit, contributing to high-quality, patient-centred research outcomes.
Assist with patient screening, enrolment, and assessment for clinical trial eligibility, and collect accurate haemodynamic and clinical data in line with study protocols and timelines.
Perform non-invasive haemodynamic studies for research purposes following appropriate training and competency assessment.
Coordinate and manage data collection across multiple research projects, ensuring data integrity, effective organisation, and timely reporting.
Ensure all research activities comply with NHMRC Guidelines, ICH-GCP, Australian regulatory requirements, and privacy legislation, including oversight of ethics and governance documentation.
Contribute to data analysis, reporting, and dissemination of research outcomes, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team and supporting quality improvement initiatives.
About you
Relevant undergraduate or early postgraduate qualifications in medical science, biomedical engineering, physiology, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience working in a clinical research setting.
Proven experience supporting clinical research activities, including participant screening and enrolment, secure data collection and management, and adherence to research protocols.
Strong computer literacy, with experience in clinical study databases, basic statistical analysis, and programming using platforms such as MATLAB and/or Python.
Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to rapidly learn new concepts and techniques, including biological signal processing and non-invasive haemodynamic data analysis.
Knowledge of human research ethics and governance processes, including HREC and RGO submissions, with a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, use initiative, and manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
