  • Salary: $33.16 per hour (casual rate) plus 25% loading + super+ salary packaging

About the role

  • Clinical and operational requirements, including use of MRDs as directed by Mental Health Services Safely operate patient transport vehicles in line with road safety standards, fatigue management requirements, and NSW Health & SVHN values, including long-distance and regional transport.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting, including patient records, vehicle logs, incident reports, hazards, injuries, and compliance documentation.

  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, roadworthiness, and safety standards, including regular restocking of consumables and reporting maintenance or repair needs promptly.

  • Work independently in out-of-hospital environments with minimal supervision, delivering safe, respectful, and professional patient care at all times.

  • Support, infectious cleaning duties, mandatory training, and participation in on-call rosters.

About you

  • Hold a Senior First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, and an unrestricted NSW Light Rigid Driver Licence with a clean driving record.

  • Confidently perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, loading/unloading, and moving patients safely on stretchers and in wheelchairs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read, write, and document accurately.

  • Flexible and reliable to work a seven-day roster, including public holidays, early mornings, late evenings, and occasional overtime.

  • Either hold, or be willing to obtain, a Certificate III in Patient Transport to advance your skills in patient care
