Kitchen Assistant - Pot Wash

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Kitchen Assistant to work in our production kitchen at St Vincent’s Private Hospital to maintain high levels of professional standards in servicing patients across St Vincent’s Darlinghurst Campus.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital production kitchen is a cook fresh facility with a high-quality food safety accredited meal service, producing more than 60,000 meals per month. This is a large team of approx. 40 staff in this busy kitchen. You will be directly managed by the kitchen supervisor, them reporting to the Head chef.

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Cleaning and Washing up responsibilities

  • Utilisation of 2 large commercial dishwashers

  • Correct application of chemicals for cleaning purposes

  • Following processes for stock and equipment

  • Adhering to a daily time schedule.

Your skills and experience:

  • Working in a teamwork environment

  • Awareness of WHS responsibilities

  • Able to follow Instructions and food safety principles

  • Attention to detail

  • Previous experience in washrooms/cleaning

  • Time management skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Flexibility to cover shifts over 7 days, early mornings and afternoon shifts

  • Willingness to work in the evenings

  • Punctuality
