Responsibilities

The Assistant Vice President of Professional Practice and Nursing Outcomes provides strategic leadership and oversight of professional nursing practice, evidence-based standards, shared governance, and nursing outcomes across the organization. This role ensures alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities while fostering a culture of nursing excellence, professional development, innovation, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes. The Assistant Vice President collaborates with nursing and interprofessional leaders to advance Pathway to Excellence, promote professional accountability, and drive superior clinical and operational performance.

 

Qualifications

 

Master’s degree in nursing required; Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing preferred.Current, active New York State RN license. Professional certification in nursing leadership, administration, or professional development preferred (e.g., NEA-BC, CPHQ, NPD-BC).

Minimum of 10 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, including oversight of nursing practice, outcomes, or education. Demonstrated experience with Magnet® Recognition Program and nursing excellence initiatives. Proven record of improving patient outcomes and advancing professional practice standards. Strategic and systems-level leadership. Knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice and outcome measurement. Collaborative and transformational leadership style. Excellent communication, mentoring, and presentation skills. Data-driven decision-making and analytical ability
