We are seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Nurse Practitioner - Oncology to join our cancer care team. You will deliver an advanced level of quality patient care and exceptional customer service within the specialty Oncology area.
In this role you will have an opportunity to positively influence the specialty across the organisation through strong clinical leadership, education, research and effective collaboration. You will champion excellence in clinical standards by integrating research and best practice into clinical policy, while demonstrating positive role modelling and leadership at all times.
The ideal candidate has strong clinical expertise in oncology, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering empathetic, high-quality care throughout the cancer treatment journey.
This is a permanent part-time position, being offered on a 0.2 FTE basis.
The Position
Demonstrate autonomy, accountability and competence to provide comprehensive and holistic health assessment relevant to specialty within an expanded clinical nursing role.
Provide effective, autonomous and accountable patient care that incorporates an advanced level of knowledge and skills in specialty within scope of practice.
Utilises enabling legislation and ANMC competencies to independently manage a cohort of patients.
Demonstrate a high level of confidence and clinical proficiency in prescribing a range of therapeutic interventions that are evidence based and informed by specialist knowledge and in accordance with clinical guidelines.
Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of specific pharmaceuticals and diagnostic, including pathology and radiology tests related to specialty that that are evidence based and informed by specialist knowledge and in accordance with clinical guidelines.
Fosters a clinical team culture of interdisciplinary collaboration leading to improved patient outcomes.
Engage in and lead clinical collaboration through clinical consultancy, collegial support, guidance and direction to members of the multidisciplinary team.
Advise with the development and evaluation of relevant clinical standards and policies using an evidence-based approach.
Coordinates and implements quality initiative activities against KPIs.
Initiate, implement and evaluate clinical research in specialty.
Provide education/advice to patients and significant others. Develop education resources and arrange specialised education as required.
Collaborate with Learning and Development to develop, implement and evaluate caregiver development programs in specialty.
Position Requirements
You will be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, possess a postgraduate diploma or Master of Nurse Practitioner degree and hold endorsement as Nurse Practitioner. In addition, you will demonstrate a minimum 5 year's recent extended practice and advanced clinical skills in specialty area of Oncology.
To succeed you will be a highly skilled clinician with advanced clinical knowledge and an extended scope of practice grounded in evidence‑based care. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical leadership, the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to mentoring and supporting others. Exceptional communication, liaison and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to negotiate effectively and contribute to a positive, solutions‑focused workplace culture.

We can offer you
Salary: $137, 294 to $164,360 per annum (pro for part time), plus 12% superannuation on pro-rate basis.
Permanent part-time position, working 15.2 hours per fortnight
