St John of God Subiaco Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse (CN) to join our dynamic and high-performing Perioperative Services team, specializing in Orthopaedics.
This is a key leadership role where you will apply your advanced clinical expertise in the operating theatre. You will be instrumental in ensuring exceptional patient safety, clinical excellence, and efficient case management for complex orthopaedic procedures.
The Clinical nurse maintains and improves the standard of nursing/midwifery care, providing clinical expertise and local leadership to ensure that quality patient care is delivered, and the Core Mission and Values of SJOGHS are achieved and upheld.
Our Perioperative Surgical Theatre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a highly skilled team of medical professionals to ensure that our Scrub Scout nurses have everything they need to perform their duties efficiently. This allows them to work seamlessly with the surgical team to provide the best possible care for patients undergoing procedures in our facility.
The Position
Act as the primary expert and resource for nursing staff regarding complex orthopaedic cases (e.g., robotic surgery, joint surgery, arthroscopic procedures, open procedures).
Function effectively in scrub/scout roles for orthopaedic procedures, maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique and patient positioning.
Lead and champion quality improvement initiatives within the Orthopaedic theatre specialty, ensuring adherence to national standards and hospital policies.
Provide specialized education, orientation, and mentorship to junior nurses and graduates within the Perioperative Unit.
Maintain expertise in the use and troubleshooting of highly specialized orthopaedic equipment, including scopes and robotic instruments.
Ensure comprehensive pre- and post-operative handover of care is delivered efficiently and accurately.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years of recent experience in a perioperative setting. You will also have demonstrated advanced clinical competency and expertise in Orthopaedic surgical procedures.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary surgical team. Proven experience in a Clinical Nurse or equivalent leadership role is highly desirable.

We can offer
Salary: $109,599 to $115,682 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
