JOB SUMMARY
The Physician Assistant will perform comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical examinations, interpret laboratory and diagnostic test. Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data. Formulate a differential diagnosis and establish a working diagnosis. Develop a treatment plan for neurological conditions within the scope of practice and in conjunction with the neurologist. The PA will be directly involved in surgical care and will be expected to take call.JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the region’s most respected heart surgeon at Cape Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

Responsibilities:
Join a dynamic group of 2 CT Surgeons and 1 Physician Assistant.
Provider to do a 50/50 split between outpatient/inpatient responsibilities
Clinic days for CT Surgery are currently Wednesdays
Ideal number of patients seen is between 7-14 per clinic day
5 exam rooms in clinic
Provider acts as Surgical 1st Assist for CT Surgeons; ideal number of procedures per week: 3-4
Provider also does inpatient rounding. Average census of inpatients: 3-7 patients
Provider will also participate in a call schedule alongside CT Surgeons (currently 1:2)
Two Dedicated Heart ORs with dedicated CVOR Team and with DaVinci Robots (#5 an #20), 5 Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid Suite
Cardiac ICU, Progressive Step-Down Inpatient unit, and Outpatient Cardiac Rehab available
CVS service line volume increases from FY23 to FY24 was 13%
Surgical experience - required!
Cardiology or Cardiothoracic Surgery experience - preferred but not required

Education:
-Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
Certification & Licensures:
-Missouri PA license
