Job Summary:

The Talent and Performance Consultant is a part of the Corporate Talent and Performance Management team and is responsible for supporting and deploying a comprehensive talent development framework. This includes the deployment of competency models, gap assessments and succession planning processes that identify critical roles, support role progression requirements, and establish talent pools.

This position partners directly with HR and leaders across the system to plan, implement and monitor all annual associate performance evaluation processes. This would include interacting with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure that associates are developed and directed towards their personal goals that clarify career aspirations, while supporting organizational performance and objectives.

Job Description:

Job Duties:

Talent Management and Succession Planning

  • Facilitating talent reviews, supporting identification of hi-po talent
  • Using data and metrics to identify development pathways for associates (stretch roles, job rotations, mentoring, etc.)
  • Supporting the creation and deployment of a system-wide succession planning framework
  • Partnering with HRBPs and leaders to identify critical roles while defining readiness indicators for successors
  • Supporting capability building tied to organizational strategy and leader behaviors (competencies)

Performance Management

  • Deploying and evaluating performance review processes across system, recommending best practices and realignment of processes to support necessary development
  • Recommending performance improvement processes combining behavioral interventions with skill development, environmental modifications, and system improvements.
  • Training leaders in behavior-based performance management processes, ensuring consistent application of performance standards
  • Supporting annual performance review cycles while assisting leaders in translating results into actionable development plans

Assessment and Insights

  • Supporting the diagnosis of performance/capability gaps, synthesizing organizational trends into actionable recommendations
  • Instructing leaders to utilize assessment data to guide talent decisions
  • Communicating complex talent insights in clear language to support organizational decision-making

Project and Program Management

  • Schedule and deploy talent cycles end-to end including performance reviews, talent reviews, and succession mapping
  • Manage timelines, communications, and stakeholder alignment
  • Ensure all talent and performance documentation is up-to-date and accessible for leaders, reviewing on a scheduled cadence

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Organizational Development, Human Resources Development, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, or related field

Specialized Knowledge: 

  • Familiarization with the utilization of 9-box matrices to diagnose talent, performance management tools, and succession planning processes in a large, matrixed environment
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to challenge leaders effectively while maintaining trust and credibility
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office tools

Kind and Length of Experience: 

  • 5+ years of experience in leadership development and assessment, performance management, or leadership consulting, in complex environments
