As a Registered Nurse On-Call, you are an essential part of our 24/7 care model. You’ll provide skilled, responsive care during evenings, nights, and weekends addressing urgent patient needs, completing after-hours admissions, and offering calm, confident guidance during critical moments. The 7 days on / 7 days off overnight schedule offers professional autonomy, work-life balance, and the opportunity to make a profound impact when it is needed most.

QualificationsRegistered Nurse On-Call Requirements & Responsibilities:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters)
1+ years of recent acute care experience required; hospice or home care experience preferred
Current RN license in state of practice and CPR certification
Respond to triage calls and provide after-hours nursing visits for symptom management, admissions, and care plan updates
Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on evolving needs
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, offering education and support to patients and caregivers
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation of care, outcomes, and communication
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance

Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off Monday-Thursday 5:00pm–8:00am and Friday 5 pm-Monday 8 AM

St. Croix Hospice expertly manages and bring comfort care to end-stage diseases, wherever a patient considers home. The hospice team includes physician services, skilled nursing, hospice aides, social work, spiritual care, bereavement, music therapy, massage therapy, pet therapy and volunteers.
Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance. No St. Croix Hospice patient is denied care based on their inability to pay.
