This role focuses on clinical data abstraction that directly supports patient care across SSM Health. The primary responsibility is to review patients’ electronic health records and accurately abstract required data elements using the National Cardiovascular Disease Registry’s (NCDR) standardized definitions.
We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate with strong clinical understanding who can thoroughly review EPIC documentation for patients who have undergone cardiac catheterization and coronary interventions. Responsibilities include evaluating appropriate use criteria for cardiac interventions; identifying and tracking trends for intra- and post-procedure complications; monitoring STEMI treatment times; validating best practices for patients with Coronary Artery Disease; and recognizing both high-performing practices and opportunities for improvement based on registry data and benchmark comparisons.
This is a remote role and the selected candidate must reside in one of the following states.

Job Summary:
The clinical abstraction specialist will apply their knowledge of healthcare and data management to analyze clinical data, identify trends and report them. They will abstract and maintain comprehensive data from the clinical records according to established clinical/regulatory requirements. Mitigate definitional issues, and chart documentation discrepancies to ensure timely completion and proper validation checks for a high level of interrater reliability.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
