About this role

Android is central to Partner AI integrations — powering integrations with OEMs, AI assistants, and wearable devices that billions of people rely on every day. This is our moment to ensure Spotify’s music, podcasts, and discovery features are seamlessly embedded in the Android ecosystem, from smartphones to smart glasses and everything in between.


As an Android Engineer, you'll develop and implement functionalities that expand Spotify's presence into advanced environments across various partners and devices. You’ll optimize performance for low latency and reliability, while applying AI-enhanced tools to accelerate development. Your work will shape how Spotify is experienced on Android platforms worldwide, ensuring ubiquity in the new agentic AI paradigm.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and deliver Android integrations that bring Spotify into AI assistants, OEM ecosystems, and wearable devices.
  • Optimize code for flawless playback, responsiveness, and reliability across diverse Android form factors.
  • Apply AI-powered automation for debugging, testing, and rapid iteration.
  • Partner with Backend, Partner Engineers, QA, and Design to deliver cohesive, end-to-end integrations.
  • Extend Spotify into multimodal and wearable Android experiences, anticipating emerging device categories.
  • Aid in establishing engineering standards and architectural approaches for Partner AI Android development.


Who You Are
  • Skilled Android Engineer  with expertise in Kotlin, modern architecture practices for Android and a proven record of building mobile experiences at scale.
  • Experienced in performance optimization, API design and architecture, and mobile system integrations.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, multi-functional squads with high visibility and partner-facing impact.
  • Passionate about applying AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve efficiency and delivery quality.
  • Enthusiastic about crafting Spotify’s presence across Android OEMs, AI assistants, and new wearable form factors.
  • Motivated to make Spotify the natural choice for billions of Android users engaging with AI-powered experiences.

  • This role is based in London or Stockholm.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
