Job Description
General Purpose:
The role of the Accountant-Experienced will have direct responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all accounting transactions. They will perform a variety of complex and potentially confidential duties requiring a thorough knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures.
Essential Duties:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – specifically Excel
- Takes ownership of monthly analysis/reconciliations/adjusting entries of various general ledger accounts. Perform overall reasonableness tests and other procedures necessary to verify data integrity.
- Improves analysis/reconciliation of GL accounts, automating whenever possible.
- Assists management in insuring financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and/or STAT (STAT applicable for Health Insurance entity).
- Participate in Health System financial planning and budget process.
- Identify and develop solutions to issues affecting the accuracy of financial records and efficiency of accounting processes.
- Makes necessary adjustments to ensure routine and project work remain on track
- Independently meets monthly deadlines.
Job Requirements
| Work Experience | minimum of 4 years experience in accounting or related business |
| Education | Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business degree with a minimum of 15 credit hours of Accounting courses |
