Job Title: Capital Project Planner

Location: Falmer (Hybrid Working)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to £52,000 depending on experience

You’ll join our high-performing Planning & Controls team, supporting the delivery of our capital maintenance programmes. This is a business-critical role where you’ll help ensure projects run on time, within budget, and meet contractual and operational standards.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Create and manage schedules in P6, ensuring alignment with Southern Water’s internal planning standards
  • Collaborate with contractors to agree updates and changes before formal submission
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements and support the management of compensation events
  • Engage with delivery teams and stakeholders to gather updates and maintain schedule accuracy
  • Represent Planning in meetings with senior internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Champion communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders

Additional Requirements:

  • All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a P6 test as part of the interview process

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a planning role, ideally within infrastructure or utilities
  • Strong P6 skills (or similar planning software)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset

Desirable

  • Experience in the water sector
  • Familiarity with NEC contract requirements
