Job Summary:


The EHS Specialist Intern will support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team by assisting with the completion of the company-wide annual Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Assessments. This role involves observing job tasks, identifying workplace hazards, documenting findings, and verifying appropriate PPE requirements across multiple departments. The intern will collaborate with supervisors and employees to gather accurate information, ensure assessments align with regulatory and company standards, and maintain organized safety documentation. This position provides hands-on experience in workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management while contributing directly to the company’s safety and compliance objectives.
The intern will be involved in completing all JSA’s and PPE Assessments for all production processes, Warehouse and Receiving, Fabrication Shop, Shipping. Services interpretation of customer specification and requirements, and production processes.   


Minimum Requirements:
 
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field
  • Completed at least one introductory safety-related course (e.g., workplace safety, industrial safety, hazard recognition, or similar)
  • Basic knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment principles
  • Ability to clearly document observations and prepare written safety analyses
  • Effective verbal communication skills to interact with employees, supervisors, and safety staff
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent tools
  • Ability to follow established procedures, safety policies, and confidentiality requirements
  • Willingness and ability to observe job tasks in operational environments while complying with all safety rules
