Position Summary
• Responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for the diagnosis and treatment of disease under the supervision of a Medical Technician, Medical Technologist, Section Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory Manager, or Medical Director.

Education
- High School diploma
Licenses and Certification
- Phlebotomy Technician (PBT-ASCP) certification
- 5 years of experience in lieu of certification
Experience and Skills
- 2 years phlebotomy experience.
Physical Activities
- Intermittent hand manipulation required.
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Perform basic venipunctures and capillary collections.
- Register patients and specimens in the laboratory system.
- Label specimens according to policy.
- Transport specimens to the lab.
- Maintain supplies and cleanliness of phlebotomy stations.
- Assist with outpatient and inpatient phlebotomy needs.
- Train new phlebotomy staff.
- Participate in laboratory improvement projects.
- Handle specimen processing and reference lab send-outs.
- Assist in problem resolution for specimen collection.
Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
