Position Summary
• Responsible for attending to the medication needs of the patients and provide drug information to patients, pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff.

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Registered) or
• Doctorate of Pharmacy (Clinical)

Licenses and Certification
• Illinois license of Pharmacy

• (225 ILCS 85/6 – 225 ILCS 85/8; 68 IL ADC 1330.300 – 68 IL ADC 1330.350) States: "An applicant may work as a registered pharmacist for up to 60 days prior to the issuance of a certificate of registration upon receipt of a notice from the Division that the examination was successfully completed."

• Technical Experience: N/A

Role Specific Responsibilities
• Maintains records, processes and monitors narcotic usage.
• Reviews, interprets, and processes provider medication orders.
• Prepares IV admixtures and other medications.
• Educates staff on medication usage.
• Educates patients on medication usage.
• Oversees technician staff.
• Monitors drug therapy, takes an active role in drug utilization , intervenes on the patients behalf as necessary, including conferring with providers and other caregivers about therapy, and documents those interventions.
• Participates in community health related events.
• Obtains and maintains competence in pharmacy, including assigned areas and required continuing education
• Participates in work assignments at other SIH facilities.

Compensation (Commensurate with experience):

$54.29 - $86.86
