Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range of $58,000 to $79,000, plus auto allowance and incentives. This salary is an average for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

The Chain Business Development Manager serves as the local liaison for chain customers and ensures local execution and enables effective partnership between the company (SGWS), chain customers, and supplier partners.  This role is the primary contact for any local issues and resolves or escalates as appropriate.  The Chain Business Development Manager focuses on operational execution, pricing implementation, inventory management, and customer requests to ensure seamless operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships at the local level to influence buying patterns, buy rates and quantities to drive sales volume
  • Manage inventory with trade development partners and forecast buy rates including special and holiday packs with limited availability
  • Manage within the system to obtain optimal customer margin rates and customer price points working with pricing and inventory
  • Monitor and implement pricing changes, promotional pricing, and discount management across chain accounts
  • Provide market information and competitive intelligence to account teams regarding pricing, merchandising, and market trends
  • Coordinate inventory management activities to include stock level monitoring, replenishment planning, and allocation support
  • Manage forecasting processes by providing data inputs, tracking performance against projections, identifying variance drivers, and recommending changes to achieve goals
  • Partner with National, Regional, and Corporate accounts teams to ensure fast and effective execution of initiatives and compliance requirements
  • Track and report sales performance, inventory turns, and program effectiveness on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field or 3-5 years of industry related sales experience
  • Possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of state registration and insurance, and an acceptable driving record
  • Manage and stay within a budget that may be assigned on behalf of the company
  • Possess a clear understanding of financial acumen
  • Ability to analyze data available to anticipate potential issues and proactively
  • Strong communication, organization, and commercial planning capabilities
  • Proficiency in using Business Intelligence software such as Compass, Diver, Excel and/or Proof
  • Ability to understand supplier strategies and capability of aligning with internal and external teams
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • Work week will often exceed 40 hours including working mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays when required
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 40lbs
