MPC Delivery HR Business Partner

JOB SUMMARY

We are actively seeking a strategic Human Resources business partner to work on the Human Resources Delivery team at Mississippi Power Company. This position will provide broad and strategic consulting in the areas of organizational effectiveness, employee development, compensation, succession planning, workforce planning and organizational design within their assigned customer group.  The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, leveraging their HR expertise to consult on various aspects of human resources, tailor strategies to our business needs, and contribute to the achievement of company goals by ensuring top-quality HR service delivery.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary HR liaison for assigned business units, building effective working relationships to integrate HR initiatives and align them with the business culture, while recommending strategies to enhance workplace culture and elevate organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide consultative guidance and support to ensure a thorough understanding and effective application of HR policies and procedures within the organization.
  • Assist business unit leaders in providing employees with development opportunities that align with current and future workforce needs.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities for HR to add value to the business. 
  • Facilitate high level discussions with senior leaders.
  • Partner with HR Delivery team members (and/or other HR team members) on key people projects and initiatives.
  • Offer objective and creative solutions to customer issues.
  • Use analytical skills to identify and recognize trends from data analysis and translate into recommendations for actions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ HRBP experience or related HR consulting experience in multiple human resources disciplines is preferred.
  • Proven track record in major HR disciplines and working with diverse employee groups.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Broad knowledge of HR disciplines such as talent management, strategic staffing, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, employee development, organizational effectiveness, employment law and compliance and their application in solving customer issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult with all levels of management through building effective relationships, facilitating discussions, providing objective solutions, influencing, and demonstrating a flexible and adaptive approach.
  • Critical thinking, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of personal initiative and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Strong communication skills; listening, oral, written and presentation.
  • Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy.
  • Ability to use analytical skills to identify and recognize trends from data analysis and translate into recommendations for actions.
  • Ability to champion and influence change.
