JOB TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Team Leader/Team Leader
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for set-up, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of blowmolding, and or injection systems room and any other related equipment. Assist Machine Operators and Line Technicians to insure safe, efficient operation of equipment to meet SQMS guidelines. Perform building maintenance and forklift preventative maintenance and repair as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES: May do any combination of the following duties:
1. Set-up and/or changeover equipment, troubleshoot and repair equipment and perform preventative maintenance on equipment in a safe and efficient manner to meet scheduling requirements. Insure equipment is running safely and meeting necessary quality specifications before completion.
2. Monitor equipment for adherence to efficiency and quality specifications. Respond to maintenance calls in a timely and professional manner. Notify the Maintenance Team Leader, Team Leader and other Maintenance Mechanics of potential problems as necessary.
3. Perform building maintenance and document and test internal/external systems as necessary. Perform preventative maintenance and repair on forklifts and related equipment.
4. Read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints.
5. Repair and/or rebuild spare machine parts as needed.
6. Perform testing and fill out paperwork for equipment and related processes as necessary.
7. Attend training classes as requested.
8. Maintain a clean working environment and follow all safety guidelines and policies at all times. Report any unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Team Leader and/or Team Leader.
9. Perform other duties as requested by the Maintenance Team Leader and/or Team Leader. Comply with all activities related to product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality.

Qualifications
- High School/GED or trade school diploma required.
- 3 years industrial maintenance experience; injection process preferred.
- Related experience in general industry will be considered.
- Understands electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Ability to analyze problems and perform repairs.
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Experience utilizing a CMMS or work order system to request, plan, execute, and analyze maintenance activities.

Southeastern Container is one of the largest PET converters, providing PET bottles, PET preforms, and HDPE pallets for the Coca-Cola bottling system.
It all began in the early ’80s when a group of Coca-Cola bottlers wanted to purchase a key raw material, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) packaging, at a lower cost. They envisioned using technology and innovative processes to enhance and create better packaging. This common thread united the group, and in 1982, Southeastern Container, Inc. (SEC) was founded as a cooperative, allowing the members to purchase products at cost.
Our first plant, which included injection molding and blow molding, opened in 1982 in Enka, NC. Over the years, adding new bottler members resulted in significant growth for our team. Today, we provide preforms and bottles to over 50 Coca-Cola operations in the US and Canada in 34 states and six Canadian provinces, stretching from Quebec to Florida and as far west as Montana. Our dedication to quality and the use of state-of-the-art technology transformed us from a single manufacturing plant into a world leader in the beverage industry.
What you'll do
