JOB OVERVIEW
The Inventory Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant control of raw material and finished goods inventory across the manufacturing supply chain. This role supports production continuity, customer service levels, and working capital targets by maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing material flow, and ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate item master data, lot/serial tracking, storage locations, and reorder parameters in ERP/WMS.
- Partner with receiving, put-away, and bin/location assignments; verify COA/specifications; enforce FEFO/FIFO and lot rotation principles.
- Monitor material availability against MPS/MRP; flag shortages, coding issues, and expedite receipts with procurement and suppliers.
- Coordinate material staging and kitting to production lines; optimize line-side and inbound flow to prevent downtime.
- Review cycle count results, perform root-cause analysis on variances, and implement corrective actions (process, labeling, training).
- Own inventory accuracy KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, standard work, barcode/labeling improvements).
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements (e.g., traceability, HACCP/GMP for food; ISO/IATF for automotive).
- Manage shelf-life, obsolescence, and disposition (rework, return-to-vendor, scrap) with quality and finance approval.
- Own inventory accuracy KPIs and continuous improvement (5S, standard work, barcode/labelling).
Finished Goods Inventory & Logistics:
- Validate production receipts to finished goods; ensure correct lot, pack size, and labeling.
- Control storage allocation using ABC and velocity-based slotting; maintain FEFO/lot rotation and pick accuracy.
- Coordinate order allocation, wave picking, packing, and dispatch with 3PLs or internal transport; optimize dock scheduling.
- Monitor ATP (Available-to-Promise), backorders, and inventory priorities in collaboration with Planning and Customer Service.
- Track inventory health (aging, slow movers, returns); lead actions to reduce write-offs and improve inventory turns; follow up with suppliers on late or failed deliveries.
- Ensure completion and accuracy of export and compliance documentation (e.g., SDS, dangerous goods, customs) where applicable.
- Maintain master data and EDI accuracy for customers, including labels, GTIN/SSCC, and ASN requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in inventory management within manufacturing or FMCG environments; on-ground/in-factory experience highly desirable.
- ERP/WMS proficiency; M3 experience desirable.
- Power BI experience preferred for reporting and analysis.
- Strong inventory control expertise: MRP/MPS, cycle counting, ABC classification, FEFO/FIFO, Kanban.
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
- FMCG or high-risk food manufacturing experience (red meat/seafood preferred).
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and proactive; continuous improvement mindset (Lean/Six Sigma).
- Knowledge of warehouse layout, slotting, material flow, labeling, barcode/SSCC standards, and regulatory frameworks.
