LOCATION: Austin, TX 78728
SHIFT 1: 6:00am - 2:30pm; Tuesday - Saturday
FULL TIME: Benefits Eligible
In this role, you will:
Open and verify check shipper sample types and ensure empty
Complete Specimen receipt logs
Specimen Receipt and forward problem samples/orders to exception handling
Identify Issues (Ordering, Labeling, Specimen)
Aliquoting of samples
Discard, Archive (All of storage components)
End of shift checklist: benches, staging and archiving units, shippers, biohazard bins
All you need is:
Associate Degree or Phlebotomy Certification with High School Diploma
Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
Typing proficiency, including 10-key
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Bonus points if you’ve got:
Bachelor’s Degree in a biological science or certification in a medical program technologist program
2+ years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing
Data entry experience in a laboratory production environment

What you'll do
- The Laboratory Specimen Processor I is responsible for opening and verifying sample types, completing specimen receipt logs, and identifying issues related to ordering and labeling. Additional duties include aliquoting samples, discarding and archiving specimens, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas.
