We have a great opportunity for a Lighting & Controls Specialist! You will drive sales and profitability through commercial and industrial lighting business opportunities involving renovation and new build construction lighting projects across all operating companies. Works closely with sales teams, contractors, and end user customers to determine proper design, specification, and functionality of the lighting system while ensuring all incentive program strategies are utilized when available.

 

 

We are looking for associates who:

  • Identify and analyze business opportunities with current and potential customers for lighting and lighting controls.
  • Achieve sales and profit growth projections for assigned sales categories. 
  • Execute sales effort in an ethical and professional manner, assuring a favorable impression of self and the company. 
  • Lead participation in on-site lighting audits, utility incentive programs, lighting design, and lighting controls system commissioning.
  • Develop and conduct solutions-focused sales presentations featuring lighting and lighting controls products in a primary and/or sales support role
  • Develop an effective and productive working relationship with inside sales associates, outside sales associates, and managers
  • Facilitate and provide education on lighting and controls including for customers and branch staff. 
  • Participate as company representative in industry communications, shows, seminars and expositions on lighting and controls as assigned. 
  • Facilitate communications across all functions including Lighting Solutions Team associates, Branch and Regional Managers
  • Use company operating software to capture sales opportunities and transactions and retrieve information to analyze business opportunities. 
  • Provide weekly schedule to supervisor and maintain daily contact (via cell phone, pager, call-in, email, etc.) with assigned branch(es) to assure availability to handle work issues in a timely fashion.
  • Submit sales call and expense reports and monthly auto expense report in accordance with company procedure. 
  • Grow business through relationships with contractors, utilities, Energy Service Companies, Commercial and Industrial Facility Managers.

 

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of commercial lighting systems.
  • Minimum of two years sales experience. 
  • Demonstrated sales ability including client penetration and retention. 
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Strong customer orientation. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to company values and ethical standards. 
  • Proven proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, Management or related field, or an equivalent education/experience combination.
