Scope of the Position

Theis postion is responsible for the coordination and management of the the administrative aspects of moving goods, ensuring that shipments are processed accurately, on time, 


Major Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Verify freight invoices against quotes and actual Shipments
  • Resolve discrepancies with carriers with invoices
  • Become WISL expert at the CDC
  • Set-up Carriers as needed
  • Creation of Commercial Invoices
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is applied to shipments
  • Arrange Paps with Carrier and Customs Broker
  • Resolve day to day issues with carriers
  • Obtain quotes for special shipments
  • Analyzing freight costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and implementing strategies to optimize shipping expenses
  • Provide weekly freight status reports to management
  • Proactivity identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies within the CDC with Freight
  • Assist DOO with branch freight analysis (Courier choice- use and spend, own truck/driver analysis etc)

Education & Training


This factor describes the extent or level of knowledge or training obtained by formal education or outside study that is necessary to achieve normal job performance and proficiency. Such knowledge is to be considered the minimum education required for performing the position responsibilities.
• High School diploma required.
• Post-secondary education, ideally in Transportation/Logistics, or Operations an asset.
• Have excellent communication and organizational habits.
• Have superior skill levels in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Enjoy working in a busy environment, and want to take on more responsibilities.


Profile 2: Experience

• 2-3-year previous experience, preferably within the distribution industry.
