The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Supporting financial close and reporting processes in compliance with US GAAP and local statutory standards (e.g., K-GAAP), in close collaboration with Korea Finance Controller
- Contributing to maintaining robust internal controls and compliance with SOX (or equivalent) across key financial processes
- Collaborating with Tax, Treasury, Audit, and Global Shared Services to support operational and regulatory alignment
- Identifying opportunities and supporting process improvements in financial operations, systems (e.g., SAP), and tools for accuracy and efficiency
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and working with Korea Finance Controller to resolve outstanding items and maintain financial health
Key Responsibilities
Period End Closing / Balance Sheet Integrity
- Support month-end and year-end financial close and reporting processes in compliance with US GAAP, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial information under the guidance of Korea Finance Controller.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, highlighting required actions and focus areas to the Korea Finance Controller to help maintain a healthy financial position.
Statutory Requirements
- Assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and support annual tax filings by preparing required schedules and documentation in accordance with timelines agreed with external auditors.
- Liaise with external auditors to address inquiries and provide timely, accurate documentation in support of the statutory audit process, in coordination with Korea Finance Controller.
Process/Systems/Continuous Improvement
- Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support internal reviews, decision-making, and monitoring of overall financial health.
- Support continuous improvement in financial operations, systems (e.g., SAP), and tools; identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the implementation of process enhancements for greater efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Support ad-hoc projects including system transitions, policy implementations, and financial process initiatives. Participate in local finance projects aligned with global standards, utilizing standardized tools and reports.
Cross-functionality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Tax, Treasury, Audit, Enterprise Operations, and Global Shared Services—to support operational alignment and regulatory compliance.
- Provide operational guidance to front-end business functions within your area of responsibility and help promote a strong compliance culture across the organization.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
- Approximately 3–6 years of relevant experience, including at least 1–2 years in statutory audit and tax filing
- Working knowledge of SAP and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint and Power BI is a plus
- Solid understanding of Korean Accounting Standards (K-IFRS, K-GAAP)
- Strong communication skills in both Korean and English
- CPA, AICPA, or equivalent qualification is a plus
- Experience in multinational companies and collaboration with Shared Services is a plus
