Job Description:

Logistics Distribution Supervisor

Summary:

The Logistics Distribution Supervisor is responsible for overseeing 3PL, Storage, Logistics and Distribution services for Solventum, aligning strategies with the corporate Network Strategy. Ensures that the requirements and business processes associated with internal processes or 3PL provider function smoothly, while also ensuring that issues and risks are identified and managed efficiently. Manages the overall planning, storage capacity, organization, and operations of Brazil Distribution Center.

Measure all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packing, storage, shipping, receiving, inventory management, workload and space capacity.

Manages the relationship associated with the region multiple areas, or distribution centers and is accountable for the budget associated with the logistics operations of the sites.

Also, will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver results that align with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

3PL Relationship Management

  • The role activities will be initiated by acting as the primary point of contact between the company and third-party logistics (3PL) provider.
  • Maintain regular communication with 3PL to align service levels, priorities, and issue resolution.
  • Optimize processes with 3PL to achieve cost savings in transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Keep track, analyze and review 3PL expenses monthly, assuring alignment with agreed/current rates.

Separation Activities:

  • Support the regional execution of separation activities during mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption.
  • Represent the region in coordinating assets, system implementation, tests and continuity, and vendor transitions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • TDSA: Strategically disentangle shared warehousing with 3M and integrate with another partner (KCI) in the region.
  • Support BPCS Tests and validate master data information which impact Logistics.
  • Lead 3M inventory transfer to 3PL.
  • TCMA: Strategically disentangle shared plant with 3M, raw material and asset inventory transfer to the new plant.

Cost Savings Initiatives:

  • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities in logistics and distribution.
  • Monitor operational expenditures and drive process improvements for savings.

Daily Operations Supervision

3PL model:

  • Monitor and coordinate daily logistics activities handled by 3PLs, including warehousing, order fulfillment, labeling, transportation, and returns.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), timelines, and quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and warehouse capacity utilization.
  • Monitor inventory to avoid product expiration and scrap.

Plant Warehouse & Distribution after TCMA:

  • Lead a business case to validate the best cost model and risk mitigation for the Plant Warehouse and Distribution operation.
  • Monitor and coordinate daily logistics activities handled by Logistics team, including warehousing performance, order fulfillment, labeling, storage, transportation, and returns.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), timelines, and quality standards established.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and warehouse capacity utilization.
  • Monitor inventory to avoid product expiration and scrap.
  • Balance warehouse activities and priorities for raw materials and finish goods service demand.
  • Lead EHS and Operations daily stand-up calls for the warehouse operations.
  • Monitor equipment performance to avoid service disruptions.
  • Track Quality and Regulatory warehouse standards to ensure a compliant operations based on such requirements.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and analyze performance using KPIs such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, lead times and Safety.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to the Logistics Management Team.
  • Track OS&D issues and partner with planning, finance and quality to develop plans for NWI reduction.
  • Identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Search for reports automation opportunities.

Issue Resolution and Escalation

  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, escalating problems when necessary to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of service disruptions, and customer or internal complaints related to logistics.

Trade Compliance Support:

  • Support trade compliance strategies and ensure adherence to local, regional, and international regulations.
  • Support trade compliance policies for logistics operations, customs documentation and regulatory reporting.

Transportation

  • Support Transportation strategies and measure efficiency such as shipment consolidation and transit time reduction.
  • Monitor KPIs and deviations.
  • Report claims for damages, lost cargoes, others.
  • Establish and monitor the freight payment process.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in network design and execution, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions.
  • Ensure alignment between network optimization efforts and overall business strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for improving logistics processes and implementing best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and company-specific requirements, especially related to medical devices.

System and Data Management

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and updates in logistics systems (e.g., ERP, WMS).
  • Collaborate with IT or relevant teams for system integration or enhancement required.
  • Serve as an ERP Super User for relevant systems (e.g., BPCS), ensuring effective tracking and management of regional operations.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to support network optimization and decision-making.
  • Identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement in network performance.

Inventory Oversight

  • Coordinate physical and system-based inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Support inventory audits and manage discrepancy investigations and adjustments.

SOPs and Documentation

  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to logistics operations.
  • Ensure all activities are properly documented and align with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all activities are properly documented and align with Quality, EHS and Regulatory local standards.

Collaboration with Internal Teams

  • Work closely with Business leaders, Customer Service, Regulatory, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure smooth end-to-end order processing and fulfillment. Serve as the main point of contact with assuring an operation that complies with company and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with Plant Director and related teams to ensure smooth raw material processing and fulfillment.
  • Set service priorities according to impacts and risks.
  • Provide logistics-related input to internal projects and initiatives.

Support for Local Projects and Launches

  • Provide logistics coordination support for product launches, promotions, phase-out and other country-specific initiatives.
  • Align capacity and resources for special projects.

Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Lead the regional implementation of sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Support the identification and adoption of eco-friendly practices in regional operations to minimize environmental impact.

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND (8-10) years of supply chain, distribution, engineering or logistics experience  
  • Previous Distribution Center leader experience and healthcare industry experience.
  • Led large scale process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
  • Functional knowledge of logistics processes and methods to include flow, cost efficiencies, safety and quality.
  • Functional knowledge of logistics tax requirements.
  • Analytical skills to include problem identification and resolution.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Experience managing projects across various supply chain and operations functions.
  • Experience starting new projects and driving from start to finish.
  • Exceptional leadership experience of direct or indirect teams.
  • Thrives within independent and teamwork environments with the ability to drive change.
  • Possess exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Knowledgeable in MS Office, particularly Excel and other data querying tools. Experience with Power BI a plus.
  • Data oriented with experience analyzing large data sets using Excel and other data querying tools.
  • BPCS experience as a plus.
  • Planning and supply chain optimization experience a plus.
  • Broad supply chain experience, such new product introduction, supply planning, demand management and procurement best practices.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Be a result driven and execution focused individual.
  • Proficiency in English is required, especially for speaking and understanding it to communicate with different leadership levels.
  • Ability to work across multiple functional groups and at various levels.
  • Availability to work extended hours during month-end and quarter-end closings.

Work location:

  • Starting at 3PL Warehouse presence min 4x a week: Itapevi City, SP
  • After full disentangle, min 4x a week: Solventum Plant at Jarinu City, SP

  • Travel: May include up to 10-20%
