Solar Digital is responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art, world class digital solutions for customer services. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Digital Product Owner to lead cross-functional software development teams responsible for portions of the digital experience enablement & operations solutions portfolio. The portion of the portfolio this Senior Product Owner will be responsible for includes documents & media management, and the user support experience.

The Senior Digital Product Owner (PO) works in an Agile environment as a member of a cross-functional Agile Team. The PO plays a significant role in maximizing the value produced by the team. To do this, the PO works to define backlog items, prioritize the team backlog, and accept the work of the team as done while ensuring it meets the definition of done.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Maximize the value of the product and the work of the Agile team
  • Create, refine, and prioritize the team’s Product Backlog
  • Communicate Product Backlog priorities to the team
  • Act as one of the key decision-makers regarding what features the product will have
  • Consult the Product Manager to ensure the backlog and development roadmap include all strategic level inputs
  • Inform the Product Manager on the status of the team and product (examples include design reviews, release timing, risks, dependencies, and team health) 
  • Convey the vision of what is to be built to the team
  • Assist with the elaboration of Epics
  • Create Features or Product Backlog Items
  • Ensures work items have clear problem statements, acceptance criteria, or other requirements
  • Facilitate the team's creation of sprint goals at the beginning of every sprint
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and partner groups throughout the organization to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on the product roadmap
  • Consider technical feasibility of proposed solutions
  • Manage application releases and content
  • Represent the voice of the user, interfacing and engaging with users to gather feedback
  • Participate in Daily Scrum as needed
  • Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospectives
  • Oversee product design and development across the Software Product Development Lifecycle, working with business analysts, designers, developers, and quality assurance to ensure requirements are met
  • Inspect the product progress at the end of every Sprint and accept or reject the work that has been done by the Agile team
  • Act as the voice of the team, communicating status externally
  • Be a good role model of Agile values; understand the framework and the roles of each team member
  • Be a champion for the Agile community and help to further the community within the organization

What You Need To Have:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate professional experience

Technical Excellence:

  • Mid-level experience in a digital product role, owning and delivering complex digital solutions.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and understand problems and develop solutions customer will love
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with international and cross organization teams

Effective Communications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Top candidates will have:

Technical Excellence:

  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
  • Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Product Owner or Product Manager certification
  • Experience with Agile software tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, etc.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and demonstrated experience employing SDLC to deliver products
  • Knowledge of Solar’s turbomachinery products and services
  • Knowledge of Solar Turbines policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Solar’s organization
  • Demonstrated use of strong product sense

Effective Communication & Leadership:

  • Experience working with onshore/offshore team model
  • Demonstrated ability to empower teams
  • Strong sense of accountability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Summary Pay Range:

$120,660.00 - $180,900.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
