Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Stockroom and Shipping/Receiving in all the day to day activities.  He/She is responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of inventory, which includes receiving, stocking, cycle counting, kitting, inventory transactions, scrap processing, physical movement and shipping of materials.

This position is responsible for ensuring kits are released to Production by the start date.  He/She will make certain product is received, distributed and shipped correctly.  They will work closely with planning/purchasing to identify discrepancies regarding inventory. 

The Warehouse Supervisor supports and works with multiple departments (Planning/Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering) and is expected act in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Making sure materials are pulled/released to support Production
  • Oversee receiving/shipping of products
  • Responsible for training all department personnel
  • Prepare reports to communicate job/inventory status
  • Perform/coordinate inventory counts and cycle counts as required
  • Review and recommend actions for unusable, slow-moving and excess stock
  • Review part history to determine reasons for discrepancies between system quantities and on-hand inventory and recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Check records for accuracy and ensure established procedures are being followed
  • Assist in implementation of Kanban process 
  • Additional duties as required

Additional Information

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 2 years materials/stockroom experience, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and good time management and ability to prioritized.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Able to read/understand BOMs and assembly drawings
  • Good communication skills; must possess good English and writing skills.
  • Basic mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel.  Experience/familiarity with Epicor would be a plus.
