The Role
We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer Electrical Design to join our team for one of our under-construction hydropower projects based in KPK Province, Pakistan. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in the design of generation plants of dams, review, and supervision of electrical systems specifically for hydropower projects.
- Lead and oversee all electrical design activities related to hydropower and associated facilities.
- Review of requirements for Electrical equipment / works.
- Review of Tender Design and Specifications
- Review of selection of Generator sizes, speed, Power Transformers and all other Electrical Equipment.
- Review of Cost estimation for Electrical Works
- Assist PM/TL in preparation of Design Review report of the tender design for the electromechanical plant of the power station including generators, excitations, generator switchgear and bus system, MV and LV systems
- Review and approval of layout, assembly and installation drawings and diagrams prepared by the Contractor
- Review of the Contractor’s manufacturing documents and factory acceptance testing programs
- Review and approval of erection and installation plans and procedures
- Monitoring of factory testing
- Review and approval of Contractor’s O&M manuals
- Review of Electrical Works for Small schemes on Irrigation tunnels
- Inputs to Design Review and Design Reports.
With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university. A higher qualification in a related field will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 25 years of overall professional experience, including at least 20 years in electrical design or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of specific experience in the design of power generation systems for dams or hydropower projects.
- Proven ability to manage complex design assignments and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of electrical design for generation plants, control systems, and substations.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
