VP, Senior Azure Data Platform Soluton Architect (JRI-6331)

JRI Singapore currently supports the overall IT functions of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in the Asia Pacific region.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive and responsible for the conceptualization of the technical solution architecture base on project’s requirements and IT strategies. Participate in vendor/product/technology evaluation and selection for the solution proposal.
• Work with enterprise architects, systems SMEs and product vendors to ensure the proposed technical solution complied with enterprise architecture principles, standards and guidelines while meeting the project objectives. Act as a bridge between the enterprise architects and the project’s technical delivery team.
• Design and implement data solutions: Develop and maintain Azure Data Architecture, ensuring compliance with data-related policies and standards
• Databricks integration: Design and implement data solutions using Databricks, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and data lakes.
• System integration: Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.
• Collaboration: Work with data engineer and IT team members to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
• Data security: Implement data security and privacy protection measures.
• Strategy development: Develop and implement strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and database implementation.
• Compliance: Work with data governance teams to ensure data solutions are compliant with regulations.
• Performance monitoring: Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Continuous learning: Maintain updated knowledge of the Azure platform, Databricks, and best practices.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, data information systems or related discipline.
• At least 10 years of working experience in the IT/financial industry with minimum 7 years in solution architecture roles. Familiar with system and project implementation lifecycle in a banking environment is preferred.
• Proven experience in data architecture and management, preferably in a cloud environment.
• Technical expertise: Extensive experience with Azure services like Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, Data Lake Store, Data Lake Analytics, Stream Analytics, Azure Storage, Cosmos DB, and Databricks.
• Databricks proficiency: Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions using Databricks, including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
• Analytical Skill: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication skill: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certification in TOGAF and Database certifications or similar are highly desirable.
