Inspecting and repairing PDC (polycrystalline diamond compact) drill bits. Duties include detailed visual and dimensional inspections, brazing, blade, pocket and body repair, hard-facing, grinding, and final finishing to meet customer and industry specifications. The technician documents repair processes, maintains quality control standards, and follows all safety and operational procedures while working with specialized tools and equipment. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve asset turnaround time, which includes reducing downtime due to maintenance, parts, failures and work-in process. Participate in failure investigations as assigned. Completed High School Diploma. Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail. Experience in drill bit repair is required, and brazing experience is a definite asset. Candidates should be able to read technical drawings, use precision measuring instruments, and work effectively in a shop environment. The position may involve standing for long periods, working extended hours, and is essential to delivering reliable, high-quality drilling tools to oilfield customers. Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in Canada, without sponsorship.
