Job Description
Learning Outcome & Objectives:
• Apply safety and security principles in a real-world logistics and operations environment.
• Understand and participate in safety incidents and near-miss investigations, including evidence gathering and root cause analysis.
• Gain hands-on exposure to access control systems, including access provisioning, audits, and compliance monitoring.
• Develop skills in reviewing and updating Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and SOPs.
• Analyse safety and security data to identify trends and support management decision-making.
• Understand regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to workplace safety and security.
• Communicate safety and security requirements clearly through reports, briefings, and written advisories.
Working alongside our team, you will:
1. Safety Management Support
• Assist in tracking corrective and preventive actions and monitoring closure status (Interlex)
2. Security Operations & Access Control Management
• Assist in the administration and monitoring of access control systems, including card access provisioning, access rights reviews, and deactivation processes.
• Support audits of access permissions to ensure compliance with approved access levels and segregation requirements.
• Assist in reviewing access control incidents and identifying gaps in controls or processes.
• Support documentation of access control workflows and system configurations.
3. Policy, Communication & Engagement
• Assist in drafting safety and security communications, advisories, and notices.
• Support safety campaigns and engagement activities (e.g. Safety Dirty Dozen, road safety awareness).
• Help standardise safety and security documentation and notice boards.
4. Project-Based Assignment
• Undertake a focused improvement project (e.g. access control process review, lone worker monitoring assessment, CCTV coverage review) with clear findings and recommendations.
Key Deliverables
• Access control audit summaries and improvement recommendations.
• Incident and inspection summaries with identified corrective actions.
• Safety and security reports or dashboards.
• Draft communications and campaign materials.
• Final project report and presentation.
