How you’ll make an impact:
As a Software Engineering Intern for the Innovation Group at SiriusXM, you will be part of a team working on leading edge signal generation equipment and signal reception devices. You will be working with a cross-functional design team and you will have an opportunity to write simulation, test, embedded, and/or GUI software. You will be learning key aspects of software delivery that help you to achieve critical business objectives that drive value to customers.
As part of your internship you will be assigned a mentor and an exciting project that you will lead from inception to completion. You will learn modern software and cloud development in a supportive environment and gain experience in creating, deploying, and maintaining high volume distributed systems.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about learning new technologies and best practices, working with highly collaborative engineering teams, delivering high quality products and striving to develop solutions to complex problems at high scale. The ideal candidate will value collaboration and teamwork and believe in trust, transparency, and kindness.
What you’ll do:
Work directly as part of an engineering team that delivers new features and functionality with high quality and robust architecture which support SiriusXM and Pandora platforms.
Develop innovative solutions that continue to scale to the increasing demands of the business.
Strive to develop simple solutions to complex problems, constantly seek ways to improve at every iteration, make suggestions for improvements.
Participate in architecture and technical discussions.
Learn and operate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Work within the Innovation Group team to evaluate technology trade-offs in simulations and hardware prototypes
Perform comparative testing of different hardware configurations.
Use source control systems (Git and GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to continuously deploy applications to production.
What you’ll need:
Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
Previous experience in software or cloud development - work projects, internships, summer jobs, etc.
Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++/C#, JavaScript or Python.
Familiarity with Linux, bash shell/scripting and GCC
Familiar with Matlab
You must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a legal right to work in the US.
At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be $37-40/hr and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
